Foresters U14's completed the league & cup double

FORSTERS U14’S crowned champions

Foresters FC U14’s completed the league & cup double on Sunday, after overcoming Rusthall 2-1 in a fantastic display of football played by both teams.
Played on the main Jockey Farm pitch, a play-off match was required to determine the league champions as both teams finished level on points of the Crowborough & District ‘A’ Division.

In an equally balanced game Rusthall would have started favorites having the home advantage and having previously beaten Foresters in both league games, but the visitors settled quickly in a high intensity game of real passion and skill cheered on by a large & friendly crowd. Chances where few but as the first half progressed Foresters began to find there rhythm after settling earlier in the game.

As the match went on possession swung Foresters way who had a few half chances before Jacob Wildy latched onto an excellent through ball putting the visitors one nil at half time.

Second half started with the same pace and intensity but again Foresters settled quickly soaking up any Rusthall pressure before Foresters scored a deserved second goal again by Wildy midway through the second half.

With minutes remaining, and in a rare Rusthall attack they finally found the net against the run of play but was too late as Foresters held on to be crowned deserved league & cup double winners.
